Good information, Thankyou.

How much does winning have to do with these Rankings? Let's say Iowa State wins 8 games next year (with Recruiting classes that have been ranked #11 or #12 for the last couple of years) do we AutoMatically get the #8 spot?

Not to be a cynic, but I know that recruits star rating will go up or down depending on who is looking at them or who they commit to. I wonder how many of our commits were 4 or bubble 4 before they announced that ISU was their choice.

I caught Jeremy Crabtree from Rivals yesterday on KC's 810 talking recruiting... when he was asked to summarize the Big 12 he mentioned what a good job Paul Rhoads and his staff is doing this year...he said recruiting as taken a big step up for ISU and is the best it has been in the last 10 years. ISU is ranked 9th in the conference...here is the Rivals rankings for the Big 12:

Not too bad only thing that makes me mad us the fact that Baylor is ahead of us.

We are making progress as far as recruiting goes, but we are still behind everyone in B12. 3 teams behind us don't even have their class filled up, so if they add just 3 or more 3* players, they will pass us. And then we will be last. So lets keep our expectations realistic.
But I believe that CPR can develop these players better than other coaches in the B12, and that is the X factor that we have on our side.
I'd like to think that in 2-3 years we can be closer to the middle of B12 with respect to recruiting ratings.

I think KU only has 2 left. They just didn't graduate much and have a low number this year.

Crabtree and the guys from 810 are pretty impressed with CPR and usually have very positive comments about him.

I think winning has helped - a lot. I also think a certain locker room video circling the internet has helped a great deal...

Look at it this way. Our kicker is ranked 1st in the big 12 in recruiting this year. Sure there are only 2 of them and he is tied for first.
Also our Linebackers are ranked above Oklahoma. That has to be the first time we have ever ranked above Oklahoma in anything.

I wouldn't say that - our wrestling program is consistently rated above Oklahoma...

Guys, usually recruiting follows performance the next year. Our success this year will be reflected more heavily next year. I look for a 7-8 place class next year.

i read in an article over at cr about Cqulin Hubert. He says that CPR told him that this is Iowa State's best class ever.

"Me and my family all settled in and watched it on the big screen," Hubert said. "I always watched their [games] and kept up with them a lot. I think they had a great season this year with Coach Rhoads coming in there and making a big change.

"With me coming in there we're going to make an even better change. He said this class that we have coming in is the best recruiting class Iowa State has ever had. This season is going to be a very good season."

Wow. I was looking at other recruiting classes and Florida already has 11 players enrolled. How do they do that?

Tebow spoke with them. That was all it took.
