RIP Gordon Lightfoot.

This one hurts. Mr. Lightfoot was a favorite of my father.

"Canadian Railroad Trilogy" was one of the songs I had played at his funeral.

Oh, there was a time in this fair land when the railroad did not run
When the wild majestic mountains stood alone against the sun
Long before the white man and long before the wheel
When the green dark forest was too silent to be real
When the green dark forest was too silent to be real
And many are the dead men
Too silent to be real

RIP

One of my go to streaming options when I need to relax. Including when the Clones suffer a horrific loss, like the Kansas referee apology debacle at Hilton in 2013. I lay on my back in my living room and listen to Gordon Lightfoot for an hour or two. Deep collection of songs. Very therapeutic.

I had always assumed lightfoot was some sort of Native American (First Nations? Canada) but its Scottish, bummer regardless had some iconic songs.
