Has anybody replaced the touch screen digitizer on their phone? I cracked the screen on my HTC Thunderbolt this weekend. The phone works fine but just has a cracked screen. I am going to attempt to replace the screen. Does anybody have some tips, advice, experience, etc?

i did this last year for my evo... i didn't have insurance, and i figured taking a gamble at fixing it for $60 (i believe that's how much it was on ebay) was better than my options for getting a new phone.

The two things I would recommend is to make sure you follow the tutorials on the internet closely, and to take your time with removing the digitizer from the LCD.. i don't have a lot of patience for this kind of stuff so i ended up damaging the lcd a bit, but luckily most of the pixels fixed themselves after a few days.

My big question is how long to use a hair dryer on it to loosen the adhesive? The videos I watch are all edited down and don't show the entire process.

You could buy the parts, then if your provider has a service dept, maybe they would fix it for you. No warranty now any way. Worth a shot.
