MLB: Red Sox - Dodgers Trade

It's just a matter of who Boston can all get rid of. I'd heard rumors of Gonzalez, Beckett, Crawford, and Punto. It'd be unbelievable if they found a way to throw Lackey in too.

As a Red Sox fan I am sad to See Gonzales go. I wish they would replace Gonzales and make the Dodgers take lackeys contract. Bye Bye Carl Crawford and Beckett you brought two World series to Boston. Thanks you.

I saw Gonzalez, Crawford, punto, and Beckett for a bunch of high level prospects and James loney. A good trade for the dodgers IMO. A line up with Gonzalez, Kemp, Ethier, and ramirez could be fairly potent. If Crawford comes back next year great and performs, great if not, cut me loose along with Beckett. Punto, who cares.

Gonzalez is in there to get LA to take the other guys. To get them to take Lackey as well? Boston would have to throw in more quality.

Uh, there is no trade without Gonzalez.

Everything ive seen so far hasnt included webster, that stings a little but i think lee has the better potential if i had to choose between those two ...

I don't know much about Webster but Lee is younger I think. Tough to lose Rubby but Gonzalez is probably worth it.

De la rosa is a bad ***. I know there is no trade with out gonzales. I just wish the sox could keep him and force them to take lackey

Finally, we're back in the game!! West Coast money spends just as well as East Coast does. Hopefully, this mentality continues and returns the beloved boys in blue to the glory days of old!! :spinny:

On the surface, it looks pretty lopsided for LA, and it does provide some much needed punch from the 1B position, but it also gives the Red Sox a lot of flexibility to rebuild around what they have left. The Dodgers are giving up two prime starters in Webster and De La Rosa, too. Sands might turn into a 20-25 hr guy who plays his position pretty well.

I am really uappy about this trade now. Hopefully the dodgers can stop the yankees and my red sox can retool with pitching
