Has that been confirmed? I know tribune has reported it isn't available, but that could also be because he is still appealing right? In football the head count takes place at first practice which is pre-classes so it really is a different situation than Basketball. If it is due to the appeal they may know soon.

I just don't see it happening where he sits out more time then he has to. But I hope we can figure something out.

There has to be more to the story. McKay is considering us and he wouldn't if he had to pay his own way IMO.

That's a big financial hurdle, but our reputation for successful transfers may be enough to keep us in the game.
 
A lot of kids don' know this but loans have to be paid back. FYI - so do credit cards.
 
I would assume that if he chooses ISU, maybe he will finish the year at Marquette and then transfer in the summer??
 
does mckay get to keep his signing bonus from marquette? maybe that could be used to pay his way at iowa state, plus a car, apartment, and spending money.

No. He will leave at the end of this semester. Would get to campus for second semester on Jan 13, 2014 and be eligible to play at the end of the first semester next year Dec 20, 2014. If you transfer from one d1 school to another d1 school you have to sit out a full school year at your new school before you can play regardless or not if you played at the last school. He has already wasted a semester of eligibility by transferring mid semester. If he stayed at Marquette for Spring 2014 he would waste another semester. He would sit out/"red shirt" at Marquette for fall 2013 and spring 2014. Then he would again "red shirt" at Iowa State for fall 2014 and spring 2015. Then by the time he became eligible in fall of 2015 he would be a RS/Sr. So by transferring after this fall semester he will get to play 1 and 2/3 seasons(Dec 2014-15 & 2015-16), compared to just one season(2015-16) if he were to stay for the spring semester at Marquette.
