Yes if that is the case, there's no way Arizona takes that. I just meant from a standpoint of every other time people have said team x can't be separated from team y in the state. That's been proven false every time.

Only other option would be to have CU only play 8 conference games in 2024 and add SDSU in 2025.
Utah only has a max of about 1.7 million people to draw a fan base from, the rest of the small population state hates them. Would not the #1 basketball program in the #1 conference have more eyes than that?

If I remember correctly, their agreement with the ACC says they have to join the ACC if they join a conference. No clue what the penalty is if they don't.
I’m totally fine with UConn. National brand, elite basketball, have spent a long time in a “power conference” previously, plus they would only get a reduced share as they aren’t P5 right now. Let’s not pretend Arizona football is some amazing property - yes, they are better than UConn but in most years they have been toward the bottom of the Pac.
I’d still prefer Arizona, but UConn is fine. And I wouldn’t be sad at all if Arizona State and Utah aren’t coming. That gives more spots in the future for ACC defections or even Pac schools down the road.

Even if they stay and Arizona is the only one to leave, how does that not have at least some effect on the Apple numbers? Arizona is in a state with a big populous and is growing still. And it's a school that from a subscription standpoint actually cares about one of the big sports (basketball).
So what power does the BOR have then? What happens if Robbins signs a deal with the Big12?
