Favre is leading the league in TD's and rating...

Rodgers is already on the verge of missing games as a starter.....while Favre tosses a measly TD six pack.

This is the beginning of a sour down-turn for Packer nation. Favre made terrible plays along with the incredible throughout his career...but Ted Thomspon/Mike McCarthy bungled this situation bad going back a couple of years.

I will now sit back and watch the cheese melt over the next few weeks.

As a fan not invested at all in the packers or Farve, I was really hoping both Farve and Rodgers would do well just so everybody could move on.

Favre was going to be gone this year or next anyway. I think GB is better off having certainty at the QB position and getting a year under Roger's belt now than if they had to wait for Favre to make his mind up one way or the other.

It's easy to remember this week's game instead of the debacle he had last week, too.

question is...will TT/MM last long enough for AR to come of age ( I have serious doubts) a couple of years down the road?

I am a jets fan now because I want Favre to stick it to the Packers.

never a fan of green bay but always of favre (who isn't and why aren't you?) I hope the dude wins it all this year with the jets. he is not human, the most fun to watch in sports, and everytime people are ready to close the book on him he opens up a whole different library. green bay definitely blew this one.

How did they bungle this so bad? I mean good lord they put up with years and years of in the offseason "well maybe I'll retire and maybe I'll come back" crap and then Farve finally retires, for real, and they move on. Holding the Packers hostage over the seasons hasn't been so cool. I'm confident that Aaron Rodgers will be an suitable replacement but am not expecting him to be a world beater.

Favre did have a game filled with suckage the previous weekend. But, clearly did quite well on Sunday.

Rodgers hasn't been bad - just not a guy you can expect to win games for you at this point.

I'm not a Packers fan, but I don't see how you think they made the wrong decision. Based on what I have seen and read Rodgers has looked great. While keeping both in Green Bay would have been ideal, you can't plan for injuries. Rodgers has, what, 10+ good years left? Favre has 1, maybe 2? Long term they made the right decision, although they may have to take their lumps short term if this injury is serious.

Edit: To clarify, you CAN plan for injuries, but this is a weird case. They weren't going to co-exist this year and Rodgers is their long term solution.

This situation actually was bungled between TT and Favre when Ted first came on board. All he had to do was stroke Favre's ego a bit...and the relationship wouldn't have soured....yes Favre is a diva....but most NFL HOF are.

The problem with long term is that the NFL is win now. My guess is that TT/MM will not have the time see AR come to fruition.

Forgot to add that Rodgers being so brittle.....I doubt he will be the answer down the road.

The Packers organization is different than other teams, it is more like a college atmosphere, both fan wise and organization wise. I guarantee one of them will be around 4 years from now, If not both. And Rodgers isn't brittle, he's not a freak like Brett, nobody is.

I think we need to wait until the end of the year before we make any evaluations. I think even more fair would be to wait until the end of next season. The Packers think Aaron is their guy for the long term, and it will take time before he fully develops.

Favre's first full year in the NFL:

Rating: 85.3; TD: 18; INT: 13; Comp. %: 64.1; Yards: 3227

Rodger's pace:

Rating: 91.4; TD: 24; INT: 12; Comp. % 61.9; Yards: 3844

Aaron Air Rogers has a separated shoulder and will now be injury suspect for rest of the season. He is injury prone like Brody Coyle. Anyonew want Brody? Who is GB backup? Who? Who?

Favre may play for 5 more years at this rate.
