I've haven't read through every thread so I apologize if I'm bringing up a topic already discussed. I went through a lot of content from media day yesterday and didn't come across where Re-al was discussed. Any news of how they might be trying to figure out ways to get his speed and athleticism on the field this coming season?

TIA

Opps, I should have posted in the Football Forum. Can this be moved?

It looks like Mitchell is going to practice in the afternoon session so you should hear more about him this afternoon.

I think that Mitchell will be thrown into the offense some for some special plays here and there, but won't be used a tremendous amount. He's still the backup QB and should anything happen to Brock (God forbid), we need to make sure the 2nd string is healthy and ready to go.

After seeing Kempt step in at Oklahoma when everyone thought that Nolan was the #2, I wonder if we will see Kolar at some point if Purdy goes down.

I REALLY don't even want to talk about that scenario, but Kolar is definitely experienced and having him there is a nice security blanket.

I would bet on it based on ZERO information. Assuming the game is close at the time. I have a 50% chance of being right.

I get what you're saying, but Real has been in the program longer than Kolar. He had solid offers out of high school and came from one of the best high school programs in the country. I'm guessing they have a playbook ready for Mitchell if that were to happen...BUT IT'S NOT GOING TO

He's experienced in taking practice snaps. He threw two passes three years ago.
I realize that I'm simply saying he's a veteran guy, like Kyle Kempt and I'm not saying we wouldn't go to Re-al first. This scenario would be worst case and going down that road makes me mad haha.

I'd like to see Re-al be the prime QB in every fourth quarter that the cyclones are up. Also, used as a decoy and another RPO to make the offense more unpredictable and productive. I'm confident Manning will be using him in the big scheme of things. 29 days to go!

I would think they have a book of plays for him to come in and run, whether actually taking a snap or just being a decoy. But I do anticipate seeing him come on the field for maybe five offensive plays a game. He's too much of an athlete to keep off the field. Plus he can throw it

I like thinking about the various options with Mitchell. It makes me think about some of the old West Virginia teams that had so much team speed on offense. How long has it been since we have had someone take the ball around the end for a long TD? Betting that it will happen this year.
