Throwing your money away. This is what KMart will look like when you go pick up your lay-away:
I'm a very rare person that never had a dog growing up, and nearly none of my relatives had dogs that were indoor dogs. My one grandmother had a poodle when I was reaaaalllly young, but once that dog was gone, she never got another one.
My mom's reasoning about "no dog" was that 1)It would not be an indoor dog, and 2)she wouldn't fence in our fairly large yard...too expensive. She grew up on a farm, and all the dogs were outdoor dogs.
Now, my in-laws have had dogs. When we were first married, they had a sheltie, and I was sad when she passed away. They now have a shih tzu, who's not a yapper, and I like him, too. I think he's 9 now, and I'll be sad when he passes away, too. I guess I semi-adopted those two dogs as "my" dogs.

I've also never had a dog. I've had a pig (ate it), some chicken (ate them), and 1 parrot and 3 parakeets (did not eat them).

Mrs. GTO had to work today, so I spent all day with the baby. Working tomorrow as well, so I have both kids all to myself most of the day.
