I have been a fan of the Cyclones for over 50 years. I never thought we would win a game that gives us a winning conference record for the 4th straight year, and I have seen nobody mention the milestone. I don't know if this is a record, I only remember the 3 Bruce years in the 70's.

I really appreciate CMC and his staff for this accomplishment, I know we all want more but take a breathe and thank the good lord that we can be proud of our football program and culture!

Good point of perspective and important to keep in mind. I’ve been an ISU fan for a couple generations less than you, but I remember what those early 2000s teams look like (late Mac and Chizzle years). Years where our only hopes for a W were early cupcakes and the occasional Kansas or Colorado win.
Also, for those around that long, we remember what the facilities were like. I remember when we had that one very small screen on the south end zone with a small number of blown out speakers. The facilities upgrades is what stands out to me most.
I’m glad to have that perspective and love that we have an expectation of winning now instead of finding ways to lose.

Absolutely agree! And this is the first time EVER ISU Football has been 5-1 in conference play. Any conference, EVER. So these appear to be the good times!

And as a fan who does attend games at JTS this year, I so wish this team could have been able to perform in front of full houses so fans more fans like me could actually witness these exciting events in person.

I hoped this would be a really good year, so that is one reason why I decided to take some risk and attend in person.

Damn near every ISU team in the last 40 years would have lost that game last night. We've seen that movie so many times it isn't hardly worth watching. It's nice to see them overcome adversity for once.

There was a palpable difference last night, as the team went into halftime and I found myself still confident we could win the game. Years ago I'd have been happy just to get back within 2 scores at halftime. Yesterday I was expecting the team to get on track and win.

and the lone conference loss was a game that could have easily been won as well.. that is a sign we are greatly improving. Right now I would say we would beat OSU in the CCG if that is the matchup..

KSU in 2018 is the last time I will ever give up on ISU. the UL game this year was rough.. but last night proved we are capable of coming back from anything if they play to their full potential.

OSU is going to have to beat OU next weekend. If OU wins, we are probably in trouble with a tiebreaker if we go 2-1 over our last 3. I actually don't like anyone's chances against OU the rest of the season unless they sneak into the playoff.

Don’t you have this backwards? We beat OU, so we have a 2 game lead over OU essentially.

It was kind of like basketball a few years ago. I wasn't nearly as confident as that but was thinking that they didn't have a big enough lead that we wouldn't come back.

Depends on what ties we find ourselves in at the end of the year. If we find ourselves in a 3-way tie, that W against OU could mean everything or absolutely nothing.

Yeah, if OU beats OSU and we end up in a 3 way tie, head to head will mean nothing. It will come down to how each of the teams did against KSU and UT. We win the next two games and it probably won't matter how we do against WV. If we lose to one of those teams, then they are elevated to the tie and who knows then. Absolutely have to at least split those games to have a shot (obviously).

I don't know if I'm just apathetic due to 'big picture' stuff like Covid more being on my mind or what but I really wasn't nervous the other night.

I may have also just expected Baylor to do down and score since it happened last year when ISU needed a stop.

Man, I thought it was over in the first half and then I was sure Baylor was going to score at the end of regulation and either win going for 2 or win in OT. Maybe I need more faith or am just conditioned that we were going to get the L.

Baylor imo played like a team that was trying to correct lots of things and came out playing very crisp and upstart but this year they don't have the ability to hold up and once things got settled in, ISU was able to control it a bit better.

Aside from that first mess of a game and at OSU, ISU this year seems to have more 'get after it'ness that was missing last year at times when someone needed to make a play.

They very well could drop the next 3 though. I don't see a 'should win' type of match up with any of the remaining games.
