Quran Hafiz to make commitment announcement on Friday

How many DB's do we need on our roster? Where's the beef on the DL? We are losing a ton on the DL after this season.

Coaching staff is very high on the brothers, (twins?) on the inside. I imagine our top prospects will be JC interior DL that are big and bad and ready to rumble.

Seriously? This kid is legit..would be a very nice pickup..I know you didnt' say otherwise but CMC and staff are completely remaking this secondary and it is long over due. In the Big 12 you win with Oline and Secondary being at the top..in our 4-2-5 D you need to have at least a solid 8-9 DBs that can all step in without a drop off.

Wts..I agree on the DLine but patience Clonedude..It's a really tough position to get commits from but we are in on a few nice prospects yet.

As likely ISU..Honeslty I'd be a little surprised if he didn't choose ISU at this point given he was here with some very close buddies who are committed. Is it me or does it seem like we are battling with VT on several kids recently?

Also..Just want to add that we have only 2 CB commits right now in this class...We have 2 DL commits as well...plus we just added the Juco DE from 2016.

So there's 8 DLine who either are just arriving or are Frosh..Just need a couple interior DT's prob. Just wanted to pass along cause I too was some what concerned but it's just how the numbers played out with such a heavy senior class on DLine. I think we will land a couple interior Juco DT's..

I wonder if the emphasis on defense is not DBs and DEs (strong and Leo). Of course, gotta have DTs, but as we all know, maybe that's where is the greatest competition.

It's early yet. Since we're after highly powerful and skiilled interior DLs, maybe the battle for them will be prolonged. Just a guess, nothing more. . . .

What about Keonte Jones and Kam White? I'd put those two guys at the top but that'd put us at at least 5 DBs. Last year we had a huge DB class and we weren't short of DB to begin with.

Keonte and Kam White are safeties. Hoping to get at least one of them. If we get Quran then I think we are pretty much done at DB. Probably done on OL unless we would get Hayes. Doubt we get Munford. Defensive Line will be the big focus.
 
For some reason Quran Hafiz just sounds like a Virginia Tech name to me but I hope he chooses ISU. I think we would be done at CB if we land him since the would give us 3, and then we add one more safety unless we can get both White and Jones then we take both. I'm working on writing up my take on how many more we take at each position and should have it posted next week.

I truly don't get what some on here write..those 2 are safeties btw..Q hafiz would be a tremendous get hands down..kid is going to be a big time stud..
 
I'm guessing VATech, but right now I would say it's a toss up. I believe pretty much every scouting guy says VT, but what do they know.

I have to agree with Beyerball on this, I think Hafiz could end up being a standout in the secondary. Good length, acceleraton and quickness.

I've seen the VT fans throwing out the names of the great DBs that have gone through VT. Hoping he remembers that was under a completely different coaching staff.
