Questions for Subaru owners

I have owned two foresters and never had an issue with them at all. The second one I bought used and sold it with almost 200,000 miles. The retired guy I sold it two drove it to Florida twice. I bought my daughter 2008 Legacy when she was in high school and at ISU. It was rock solid until a car pulled out in front of her on campus. Their insurance wouldn’t total it and it was fixed. Had engine trouble after that so got rid of it. They seem a little more prone to rust too but that may just be me.

Sorry for bringing up old sheet here, but what say you now about your Ascents? We are in the market and it may be the clubhouse leader.
Thanks in advance!

Wife still has an Ascent and the 2020's have major electrical issues. Already on her 3rd battery. So many recalls. I would never own this car past the warranty period.

Thanks, this is the kind of stuff that really matters. At least to me. Not some writer's opinion that is largely based on subjective criteria such as styling or preferred features.

Have a 2018 Impreza. Love the AWD and overall quality.

My biggest issue is seasonal gas mileage. I get about 26mpg in town for 3 seasons. In winter for some reason it drops to about 18mpg.

Only other issue is due to AWD and weight, not the best acceleration.

But love it during Iowa winter.

Our Palisade is at 70k+ now with zero issues. Honestly didn't expect for electrical to be the biggest issues on the Ascent.

How’s it been besides those issues? Per the inter webs (CR) those issues were mostly resolved by 2021.

2019 model year here, no regrets or issues as of 65,000 miles. There have been a few recalls as you would expect for a new model, my particular car has not been negatively impacted by any of them so far.

I like Subarus. But I remember some concern about the size of the vehicle and their choice of a 4 cylinder engine and the reliability of their CVT transmission with that greater vehicle weight. This article alludes to the latter.
