Not blaming the game on the refs or anything, but I'm kind of new to basketball and not too familiar with the way refs usually call games. But to me it seems like 4/5 of the time when a team drives the lane, a foul is called. Is this how basketball is, or is this just big xii refs? Kind of kills the game for me... So many ******* free throws, kills the pace, and makes the game pretty dull.

It's how it is in the Big XII and Big East because they are the two more physical conferences.

And both conferences typically have refs that like the attention they get when they blow their whistle.

Its going both ways. This just isn't fun to watch regardless of who is winning. Every possession has a foul unless someone shoots a three

It's the norm. Quite honestly if you wanted to you could probably call a foul every trip down the floor. If you've let the person get into the lane from the perimeter chances are you got beat and need to foul to get back in position.

Big 10 just as physical. And the refs are just as horrible.
