Here's a very nice update on Shontrelle Johnson and his commitment to Iowa State that was just released today. Speculation was we offered and accepted Albert Gray because Shontrelle Johnson might back out of his commitment. Hopefully this update squashes that speculation. Although....technically signing day still hasn't come yet so we shall see.

I feel worse about Kirksey than I do Johnson. Wednesday will be the day we find out.

He sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders. Liking him more and more.

This is great news for us. On a side note.....who else, besides me, that read this article also clinked on the lingerie football link below it? Seriously.....let's get these ladies a T.V. deal!!!

Johnson, a senior at DeLand, verbally committed to Northwestern last summer, then switched his allegiance to Iowa State earlier this month. Then, in an interview with the Sentinel, Johnson said he would go to Florida State if they made him an offer.
From the outside looking in, it appeared Johnson couldn't make up his mind.
"I know I went back on my word, but I felt like I was young and made a commitment too early," said Johnson, who transferred to 6A DeLand from 1A Crescent City last offseason. "I wasn't used to the whole 6A football and the spotlight that comes with it."
But his waffling days are no more. Johnson is now firmly committed to Iowa State and wants to put the whole thing behind him.

Was anyone else annoyed by the extreme use of the term "waffle?"

I noticed that as well.
But, I guess waffles can be extreme. I'm pretty sure base jumpers traditionally eat a big waffle breakfast before flinging themselves off of a cliff.

Extreme waffles sounds like something they'd serve at IHOP when you want a side order of diabetes with your breakfast.

I haven't had homemade waffling in a long time. Anyone have a good recipe? Seriously, kid seems to be a good pick up.

Due to all the talk about waffles, I have officially decided that I'm having homeade waffles for breakfast tomorrow since we're officially 'iced' in (and awaiting major snowfall) here in NW Arkansas.

Oh yeah, these two guys kick ***! Can't wait to see them in Cardinal and Gold!
