Would it be smart for the cardinals to move Pujols to 3rd and Berkman to 1st while Frese is recovering from a broken hand?

From the Cardinals point of view this would put Berkman back at 1st where he isn't going to be worn out or exposed. Even if it is only for a few weeks I would do it just to keep Berkman healthy for an entire season.

That thought has crossed my mind as well and maybe they consider it a few years ago before Pujols had the elbow problems. Having already had surgery on the elbow, I assume they just don't trust it to hold up. I'd love to see it, but I'm sure they're too worried about durability.

As far as I'm concerned, we could move him to SS and let him take over for Theriot. He'd have better range and less errors. I could see signing Theriot as a utility guy, or maybe at 2nd, but signing him as the everyday SS still has me scratching my head.

I feel bad for Freese. He was doing some really good things, but has terrible luck.

It would be smart to move Berkman to 1B but it would be pretty dumb to move Pujols to 3B. He's had leg problems for years now, moving him to 3B would only make them worse.

It could make it cheaper for them to keep him if they can make him lame during this season!!!
