I hate giving a Cardinal props but after hearing these stats on Mike & Mike this morning I am just amazed. This season with the bases loaded Pujols is 7 for 9 with 24 RBI. Of those 7 hits, 5 were grand slams. In the 9 AB's he only swung and missed on 2 pitches! Knowing those stats now, I think with the bases loaded I'd rather take my chances by walking him even if it means giving up the lead since there is a 78% chance he is going to give his team the lead if he's allowed to hit and a 56% chance that he could be driving in 4 runs.

I was watching that game, first thing I said was "big mistake, it'll be gone". Sure enough.

I have great respect for Pujols. The dude can hit. He said this week, that he has been struggling and is human, just like everyone else. I wonder about that.

Egos. Walking a guy with the bases loaded emasculates the manager and the pitcher. Won't happen much even if it's the correct call.
