Props to Buddy Freakin Hield

He's really, really great.

But Matt did a pretty amazing job on him. Chasing him around all night is a tough task and we stopped him just enough to win.

But no matter what, I'd take Georges over him :)

I guarantee he gets POY, and if he doesn't, he got screwed.

Hield is absolutely insane. He can hit a shot from anywhere, anytime, and over anybody guarding him. It's ridiculous. And he makes it look so easy, too... His stroke is so quick and short. I hope for his sake that he has a very successful career in the NBA; it looks to me that he definitely has the tools he needs to move on to the next level.

That said, I'm glad we won't see him in Hilton anymore. He's a one-man-army. Now, just getting past him again after the regular season ends...

He's really good. But we've had success against him.

Randy Pete tweeted that Hield was up in a refs face complaining about a call. Maybe that's why he got away with mugging Georges most of the second half to the point they called that bs foul on Georges.

Hield is the best player we will face all season. Thomas was like glue and he still gets 27.

I have watched nearly all of Thomas' games

At the very beginning he was clueless on defense his freshman year in December

But he kept getting better. I saw the first step forward in defense when Fred threw him in there @ BYU. I believe Niang, Kane, and Ejim all eventually fouled-out

Matt's "D" improved early on his frosh year, but took a quantum leap this year

I have seen a lot of basketball in my time as a Cyclone fan. Im 41 and have seen Danny Manny, derrick Cheavis, and a bunch other. Hield is one of the best i have seen at Hilton. Gonna miss seeing him play, however glad he is gone.

So you were watching D Manning at 14? Cool.

Sure he takes a lot of bad three pointers. But if you have the ability to go like 50% on bad three pointers, take all the bad three pointers you want.

Maybe I'm imagining it but I swear every 3-point shot he MADE last night never touched the rim. Everyone of them. I'm enamored of his skills. Great player.

That's just it, he almost always has to take off balanced or contested 3's and still hits 40-50%. He is probably 80-90% on open looks but rarely ever gets one that isn't in transition.

Hield is amazing, the percentage he has with the shots he gets off is incredible.

I would love to see his shot in slow motion though. Watching live, it doesn't seem like his form is picture perfect like other great shooters. Normally that would hinder a player's consistency, but it doesn't seem to matter with Buddy.

Someone else said it earlier in the thread, but Hield is the the best college shooter since Jimmer. If you haven't seen Jimmer highlights, do yourself a favor and check those out.

Hield is unbelievable but Hield is OU. If he has an off night, OU loses....

Very impressed with the Cyclone effort last night. Unlike some of the previous #1s, OU was a legit top team, with their top player (who had a great game), their club shoots a record 17 threes, and we still take them down. I thought the bookies were nuts, but they knew the #19 rating meant nothing.

He is a helluva player. Matt played excellent defense and he still got 27.

I wasn't pleased with how Hield played defense, but if he can get away with it . . .
