Anyone watch this today....? Now I believe in God, but todays speeches were like a Church revival meeting. I'm sure he (God) has a influence on lives, but thought today was a little over the top.....?

Gary Zimmerman was the only inductee that basically, just thanked Coaches, Teammates, Family, Friends and left the almighty out of the equation....

Darrell Green has always been known to be very devout. It isn't surprising at all. He played for the Redskins, i.e Joe Gibbs.

I tend to believe that they are in the hall of fame due to a combination of talent, hard work, coaching, dedication, and discipline. You could throw a few other things in there as well but I don't think God put them there. I respect their choices for faith and religion, but inclusion into the hall of fame for any sport is not Gods decision. If it were I don't think Ty Cobb would be in the baseball hall of fame, or were Gods requirements for behavior a little lax back in the day? I would like to believe that God has given everyone of us the opportunity to do whatever we want with the lives he made possible. We can turn out to be great athletes, great scientists, great artists, or what ever else we as individuals with free will choose. Giving God all the thanks for ones success when you have depended on others like coaches, families, friends, etc belittles the efforts you and other put into your success. I am not saying don't thank God but put things into perspective. I for one have always believed that God does not interfere with professional sports as it would play hell with the spread.
