Potential Transfers '14

Their roster had some key upper-class players like Jones, Lamb, and Miller.

Why do you think KU keep winning? Because they maintain at least few Soph/Jr/Sr returners.
Yeah, but your comment of "that is why Calipari can't win. I will take Jr/Sr veterans over top 5 HS players any day." is still wrong. He has won, and getting top talent is almost a requisite.

Weird, a coach claiming his under performing team is un-coachable? Can't put much stock in that; sounds like an excuse to me.

So if i understand it, the Anthony Davis team was coachable, so of course they won the championship, but last year's team was uncoachable so they lost in the 1st rd of the NIT. Makes sense.
Analysts keep giving Cal a pass and it's beyond annoying. Yes, he won a championship 2 years ago with 6 first round NBA draft players. Scott Drew could win a national championship with that team. Overrated coach yet great recruiter.

Yeah, no. Recent Kentucky recruits are entitled, arrogant, and selfish. They put in their one season of ball hogging, and if it doesn't result in being a lottery pick, they're just going to be salty and pout for the rest of their career.

Kentucky recruits think they're choosing the path of least resistance to money, fame, and a year of college living in luxury. Have you seen those facilities? Some dictators would be jealous.

You have a proven coach and consensus top talent in the country, and look at their results. They're athletic, but all play "me" ball. 260th in assists in the country. They get what they deserve, and I want none of it.

Yeah. I don't want to watch kids who don't want to be here act like they give a **** about college basketball when they clearly don't. Give me a Matt Thomas, Monte Morris, or Naz Long every day of the week over some egotistical potential NBA wash out.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... let's not get crazy here.

Back onto the subject of potential transfers...

If Anthony Lee chooses ISU, imagine a starting line-up of:
Monte Morris
Abdel Nader
Dustin Hogue
Anthony Lee
Georges Niang

Bench:
Naz Long
Matt Thomas
Jameel McKay
Clayton Custer

Yes please. Sign me up for that right now.

Is Nader quick enough to play defense on guards? I have to think he'd be off the bench in favor of starting Naz in that scenario.

With that much of talent and losing to Robert Morris @ NIT is winning?

sdw will get some more minutes next year

You could be right but if we bring in another real good transfer guard, who's minutes is he going to get? Possibly Thomas but I think the chances of MT improving a lot from this year to next are better than SDW's. Time will tell.

this is division 1 basketball folks. if you get a chance to bring someone in that is better than your other players and can make the team better then your other players better start practicing more if they want to play. we are in this for more than just "making the tourney" now so if you come to ISU you better realize that there is no guarantee you will play - you have to earn it each year. no one was complaining about Naz's playing time when Rashad Vaughn was still thinking on coming here...

In Fred's system, the question should be are other guards big/strong enough to guard him? He'll have a height advantage over most guards so he can get his shot off. He can also post them up.
