Positive Royce news story.....

I'll believe it when I see it. But I still hope he gets his act together; this is his last chance to have any kind of career in the NBA.

Wow - I sure wish I led a perfect life like the last 4 posters...you all kind of remind me of the HOK fans that I live by here in eastern Iowa - pathetic.

Sounds like his fitness is the only thing that could limit him this year, which is better than last year, I suppose. The bad thing is that there is really no excuse for him to be out of shape when he is a paid professional athlete. I'm excited to watch him play. Two of my favorite Cyclones in Philly, not sure how I feel about that....

I have become pretty sick of Royce's antics since he has left Iowa State. At the same time, I think some of this backlash against him to be ridiculous. If he got things turned around and was a NBA All-Star 5 years from now I garuntee you'd all be back on his bandwagon.

First of all none of us are in the media spotlight and I for one don't have a criminal past. I'm not perfect and neither are the rest of the four in front of you but they probably don't have a track record of criminal issues or throwing away amazing God-given talent. That's what is pathetic.

One could argue RW had all of those things when he was here at Iowa State. I could be wrong, but I imagine you weren't criticizing these things when he was leading us in every statistical catagory.

Royce wasn't throwing away his talent at ISU..that is my main point and always will be. He is throwing away a talent that EVERY person on CF would kill to have. That is what is so disappointing.

You're right; we all owe him an apology for being disappointed in his behavior last year. He had every right to totally **** away any chance he ever had of making an impact with the Rockets, become a positive role model for mental health awareness, and conduct himself like an adult. Our bad.

How do you know I don't have that talent? Ok, so I am 49 years old, but I once average ~4.2 points per game on a basketball team in the intramural C league...that has to count for something.

"He's an interesting personality, that's for sure". He got that right.

Even with all the bad publicity he's gotten recently, he is still one of my all-time favorite cyclones and I wish him the best. Take it for what it was worth, but the one time I talked to Royce while tailgating at a football game, I'll never forget how nice and sincere he was to me during our conversation. It was something I had never experienced before with an athlete and I think he was as good of an ambassador as I've seen on that front during his time at ISU. I know there are others who will agree with me. If he does find success in the NBA, I'll be a fan.

I agree completely. He played a huge part in putting ISU basketball back on the map, and I think he's a fascinating and thoughtful person. That's what made it so disappointing to watch him self destruct last season. I genuinely hope he turns it around, but like I said earlier in this thread, I'll believe it when I see it.
