Plane makes emergency landing on I-20/US287

Don't understand why the pilot would crash land the plane rather than turn for an airport with an oil pressure problem. He's going to loose his engine, but it may run for quite a while yet, especially at low settings. I'm going to assume his temperature was also rising, indicating it was really a loss of oil pressure and not just a gauge malfunction. He also did a horrible job landing in the field landing with only a few hundred feet to stop in front of him, but thousands of feet behind him. Everybody walked away, so by definition it was a good landing though. Better to be lucky than good.
