Pickleball has been around for probably 30 years. Why is it NOW when it decides to get popular?

We had pickle ball in 1994 PE in small town Nebraska, so I’m guessing somewhere trendy had it in the 1800s.

Maybe I just had a fun PE teacher though because we also played team handball and still probably one of the most fun sports I’ve played.
