1990- Big 8, Pac-10, Big Ten with ten teams (pre-Penn State), SEC with ten teams (pre-Arkansas and South Carolina), SWC, ACC (pre-Florida State), lots of major independents

2000- Original Big 12, Pac-10, Big Ten with Penn State, SEC with 12 teams, ACC with Florida State, original Big East (Miami, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, etc.)

2010- Original Big 12, Pac-10, Big Ten with Penn State, SEC with 12 teams, ACC with 12 teams (after raiding the Big East for Miami, Virginia Tech, and Boston College), new Big East (with Louisville, Cincinnati, and USF)

2020- Big 12 with ten teams, Pac-12, Big Ten with 14 teams, SEC with 14 teams, ACC with 14 teams, no more Big East

The future monstrosities- Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC, USC and UCLA in the Big Ten, Big 12 with at least UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, and BYU, Pac-12 possibly going out of existence, ACC possibly getting raided
