again, do it like you're building a team, with payroll concerns as well as looking towards the future as well.

Soriano, Quentin and because my son likes to say his name..Fukudome.

My only comment on this will be that anyone that doesn't pick Carlos Quentin may be functionally ********.

No love for Jerry Owens?

I picked Fukudome over Dye because Soriano playing center would make me vomit.

I would like anyone to give me one good reason why you didn't pick Soriano or Quentin.

1 person did not pick Soriano and 7 did not pick Quentin. Either one plays 162 games and they are their league's respective MVPs.

The biggest knock on Soriano is his contract. By the time 2014 rolls around, someone will be paying $18mil for a guy who could have creaky knees and a slow bat.

I haven't voted yet, but I'm not sold on Quentin. I'd like to see him have 1 more good year (well actually I wouldn't, but you know what I mean) before I can label him that perennial MVP. That said, I'd take him for 550k...

Regarding Soriano: I am amazed with the Cubs fans that hate him. I went to Wrigley last year and so many booed him. On the scoreboard he was named NL player of the week and some girl turns to her boyfriend/husband and is like "why are you booing him?" he said "because he sucks" and she was like "look, he was player of the week" and he was like "that was just week". Of course he was rocking Fukudome gear, so you know he doesn't like stats. I really do not get it, as Soriano is the best offensive player on that team. Cubs fans (or at least the ones sitting around me that afternoon) must not like stats.....

Just to clarify, is this from the perspective of building a team from scratch? How many years are we looking at in the future on this?

Quentin's minor league numbers suggest that he's likely a pretty decent player. Who would you take over him?
