The only name that would excite me is Phillip Fulmer. I would renew my season tickets for sure if he is hired. If not I will not renew my tickets. This would be a huge coup for Iowa State. This would revitalize the Football Program just as Johnny Orr did when he left Michigan for Iowa State. Fulmer is 152-52 lifetime and has won a National Championship. Is known as a excellent Head Coach Recruiter. Just think of all the ties he has in the South. He would have credibility when he goes into the living rooms of potential recruits. So wait...the only way you'll renew your season tickets is if Fulmer is hired? Way to support your team there.
If you think I am going to get so shallow to go out and say I will not renew my season tickets unless we hire Fulmer, you assume I am a shallow fan. Fulmer would be a good get, but I'll trust Jamie and who he figures is best for ISU. My butt will be in my Season ticket spot regardless.
It's been pretty well established that Fulmer hasn't discussed the Iowa State opening with anyone (friends, fellow coaches, Pollard). There are no signs that it's even on his radar except for an idiot on the radio trying to grab ratings. So I think I speak for the rest of us that'll be at Jack Trice every Saturday next fall regardless of who the coach is when I say, "We'll live."

Every time ESPN has an update about Hansborough breaking the North Carolina scoring record they say he passed "Phil Ford." I keep thinking they're going to say "Phil Fulmer has been announced as the new head coach at Iowa State."
I can't imagine throwing down an all or nothing scenario. I'd love to see Fulmer, but there are 7 or 8 names (above Mike Stoops by the way) that I would be happy to get.
Maybe true. I don't think anyone is arguing against that. But for the original poster to say that they won't renew season tickets unless Fulmer's hired is pretty narrow-minded, especially since he's reportedly not even interested.

Longhorns3131 I would be doing handstands and cartwheels if Pete Carroll came to Iowa State. So the answer is yes I would renew my season tickets. Not sure why everyone is so sensitive about my comment about renewing tickets.
