NFL: Peyton Manning Wins 4th NFL MVP

Don't agree as I think Brees and Favre had better seasons. Manning is a stud though

Can't argue that this guy is the more valuable to his team than any other in the leauge. It's a pleasure to get to watch this guy play.

That had to be one of the closest votes of all time. All three deserved it.

I'd argue for Favre (not just because I'm a Vikings fan) but because of the huge difference he made for his team. Granted, the others teams would be screwed w/out them too.

Well said, this is why the vote had to be tremendously close as you mentioned.

idk about that, vikings still have an amazing defensive line and AP to lead the way. If tarvaris jackson was taking the snaps, i still believe they would have won the NFC north, but in a more conservative manner

the only reason i saw manning winning it is because game after game after game he would lead the team to win at the final moments. The saints won games by different factors each game, their D, turnovers, or running the ball. Now without that, it would immediately go to Rivers, as LT and sproles had a very small run game through the season

After watching every single Vikings game this season, I think I can say fairly confidently that the Vikings wouldn't have beaten the Packers and won the North with TJack at QB. I would actually argue against them making the playoffs as well.

As for Manning, he is starting to make the case for the greatest QB of all time. He is fantastic to watch. My biggest argument is that he has been with that offense and main WR's (Clark and Wayne) pretty much for years. Favre got to Minnesota with no history with any WR and has made those WR's into Pro Bowlers/ROY winners

It just goes to show that nobody matters in this league anymore other than the QB.
The lengths they got to protect them is insane.

Facts are facts. CJ played on a team that went 8-8. They were 0-6 to start and then finished 8-2 with Vince Young. You can argue he is just as important to his team as CJ

Favre made a difference in the overall attitude of the Vikings, and in the development of their offense. But.......they won 2 more games in the regular season than they did last year with TJ and Gus. Not a huge difference.

Without Manning, the Colts would be lost. As probably would the Saints without Brees, but Manning is even more important to the Colts, IMHO.

I don't think you can in anyway say that. The Titans with Lenwhale running is 0-16 no matter who is under center.

I don't believe that VY is more valuable than CJ but their record indicates that he may be. Teams that start 0-6 and don't make the playoffs don't get votes for MVP unfortunately

Kind of like 2,000-yard running backs don't win the Heisman on teams that suck?
Which I never understand, everybody knows they are getting the ball almost every down. You'd think it'd make it that much MORE of an accomplishment.

Pretty much. It's like, "how valuable are you if your team isn't even above .500?"

Honestly it is a pretty good question
