Patrick Kane injured

I only care about playoff hockey. Nothing beats playoff hockey.

no one is surprised by this.

If Kane's injury is serious that is tough for the hawks. He is the leading goal scorer in the league. The bulls at least have grown accustomed to playing without rose since, well, always.
 
It is NOT confirmed yet but early reports out of Chicago media are saying it could be a broken collarbone. Could be out for 6-10 weeks. Ouch! Hopefully those reports are wrong, but I doubt it.
 
The Blackhawks have been playing awful lately, this certainly won't help. In danger of missing the post season now...

This is what it looked like to me when it happened. The way he was holding his arm going off the ice just said collarbone.

No chance. Chicago is the deepest, most talented team in the NHL. Losing Kaner certainly won't help, but there is still plenty of talent on this team. Guys like Saad, Versteeg and Shaw will have to step up in his absence and Teravainen will get another shot to show his talent. They may backpedal a bit into the SC playoffs but they are 10 points away from being out of the playoffs with 21 games to play. That would be an epic collapse to miss the playoffs.

Currently sitting as the 4 seed with an 8-point lead on the 8 seed with 20 or so games to play.

With it be reported to be a 6-10 week window, Kane is basically guaranteed to be out for the remainder of the regular season (about 7 weeks.) Hopefully the Blackhawks are able to weather storm while Kane is gone, and still get into the playoffs, even if it is unfortunately as a 7 or 8 seed.

Need the Blackhawks to get into the playoffs. It's what gets me through to about June once March Madness ends. Then it's just about a month or so before NFL teams start reporting for training camp.

boo, no. Husband will be a sad puppy. Though I think the finals are always a bad week for us - we were leaving for vacation the last time at about 3am and husband was late leaving work, heard one goal in the parking lot at our apt, and walked inside to just barely catch the other one. Don't think he slept that night. Supposed to be moving that week this year so while I would prefer they do well in the post-season.........if they make an early exit he'll have no excuse to not help pack.......

Exactly. What would I do if I couldn't grow my playoff beard and **** my wife off?? I am with you though. I look forward to the NHL playoffs every year more than anything not named March Madness.

I also just realized I won't get to see Kaner play in person for the second year in a row when the BHawks come to the desert in a few weeks. F...
 
Adam Hoge just tweeted that Kane is out 12 weeks after having surgery. Means he wouldn't be back until Western Conference Finals.

Great.

Crap. Wonder if that is just healing time or if it will be even longer to get on the ice and get up to speed?
