Overlooked New Mexico HS football prospect article

He sounds better than about half the people on our current roster. Paul should hop a plane and go get him.

"During the spring evaluation period, Carl said that coaches from Tulsa and Iowa State were the only programs who stopped by Rio Rancho, a town of nearly 100,000 people just north of Albuquerque."

"
He was on the Cyclones board as well, but they secured a commitment from their top target, which ended their pursuit of him."

Sorry if was already posted, but I thought this was an interesting article. The photo in the article of interest letters show some ISU mail pieces he has received. 6-3 200 is decent size and he has great passing stats.

Pretty cool. Says we backed off recruiting him when we landed another kid. Does not sound like a good fit for our offense either.

CPR - Take a flyer, get this kid at ISU.

The next Jake Waters....

I even thought that if he is 6-3, 200 in high school and was possibly the best athlete on his team, would he be worth recruiting with the plan to move him to another position if he couldn't make the QB depth chart.

This kid wont even see the field at UNM until late in his career, if that's where he does end up. They are moving former Rio Rancho QB Cole Gautsche (sp?) to TE so Lamar Jordan can be the full time QB, and he was just a freshman this year. Jordan will be the starter for the next 3 years.

We may be our worse enemy when recruiting between CF blurbs and failed offers.

No one has offered him including New Mexico State and New Mexico. And IF we did offer this kid, you would be the first railing and complaining about a kid that no one else had offered that we had offered a scholarship to.
