Outside the Lines - Tyler Sash

Yeah... I hated Tyler Sash mainly because of the rivalry, but what happened to him is incredibly sad. Its going to be very hard to allow my children to play football. Scary stuff.

The show did a great job of showing Sash the person. Seemed like a decent guy.

Actually, it's become very easy for me not to let my children play.

My son suffersed a severe concussion January. The best minds in the world have him back at school part-time. The science sucks. Every family must choose this sport with all information available.

If you haven't seen it, watch the last 30 minutes or so of the ESPN special on the 85 Bears. It is mostly about the unique and effective treatment of Jim McMahon's head (and neck) injuries.

Watched it yesterday, oddly enough this was after watching the movie Concussion a few nights before. I'm not a father, but it would definitely make me think twice. I took a knee to the helmet with a mild concussion when I was in hs. Blacked out for 10-15 seconds. Scary stuff with a sad story on Sash.

i have a friend who passed out and collapsed a few years ago and ended up with a serious concussion. She missed work for 6 months and wasn't back to "normal" for over a year. Brain injuries are terrifying!

Definitely a scary story to consider. I loved watching my oldest play football during his first season of tackle but am not sad that he hasn't decided to play again yet.
