Our RB's getting some national press

Not to put a damper on the good vibe, but it was a positive piece about every team in the conference. So, in essence, our RBs are strong when compared to the other positions on our team. Not compared to other RBs cores in the conference.

It's a fluff piece.

No mention of BAYLOR in that piece. Or Okie State. Or A&M.

hey i will take some good love thrown our way anyday, doesnt usually happen :notworthy:

Baylor kicked the living crap out of us. I couldn't believe the talent gap between the two traditional bottom dwellers of the B12.

Getting leftovers from the state of Texas is a little different than getting leftovers from the state of Iowa when it comes to recruiting. That helps Baylor a lot.

Our guys also did not bother showing up for that game. Methinks Chizik's eyes were already glancing over his shoulder, looking for a way out. Hopefully things will be quite different this fall.

I think we certainly had the talent to compete on the field at Baylor last year (we had Kansas and Colorado on the ropes, didn't we?) - we just flat out didn't. It was as if the team didn't even want to be on the field that evening. No inspiration. No fire. No will to win. And Baylor took us to the woodshed. To me that's a coaching issue. I couldn't agree more - I think Chizik was already beginning to mentally check out at that point. With the exception of the Texas game, I don't think there was a single time the previous year we looked that absolutely inept for an entire 60 minutes of football. The sad thing is, it wasn't just Baylor - it was also Nebraska, OSU, Missouri, not to mention the first half of the UNLV game and the second half of the Kansas game.

Correction... Getting leftovers from the state of Texas is different than getting the top talent in Iowa.

Baylor would not beat Iowa. And I'd take Davis, Wegher, Barrent and Cotton over Texas leftovers (the kids that don't get offers from Texas, TT, A&M, etc) any day.

thats 4 players you just listed though. i would easily take an entire 25 player class of texas leftovers than 25 guys from iowa or the midwest in general

That helps them a "little" at best. Baylor traditionally sucks most years so don't go thinking they get any better recruits than ISU, because if they do their record sure doesn't show it. The problem was that last year ISU had a horrible d-line and the rest of the D wasn't much better (barring a couple DBs). Had ISU had even an average D they would have won 6 games last year.

Give this new guy a year to get his D scheme implemented and ISU will be much better than Baylor, I promise you.

Iowa consistently finishes the year rated much higher than Baylor, so what are you guys arguing about? Obviously Iowa is a better program with better recruits. Nuff said.
