OT: New Tarantino trailer

I thought it was incredibly well done. The ridiculous violence in the last several Tarantino films was too much for me, so I was pretty meh on this when it was first announced (barring Hateful Eight, which I haven’t see - he has pretty well lost me by then). I then heard a little bit more about the premise and heard how incredible Pitt and DiCaprio were, so I went - it was awesome. I thought it was really well done. Funny. Visually great. Still had great dialogue, even if there wasn’t as much snap to it as sometimes in Tarantino stuff. There was still crazy violence, but not Django-level - I could handle it. I think Pitt and DiCaprio will both get nominated for it.

As someone who hates feet, the knobby, dirty 60s hippie feet were a lot!

Saw it last night. It was WAY TOO FING LOOOOONG. I was in the front row so that may not have reduced my experience. Honestly I was lost during the movie, understood the plot but dang I should have done my homework on this prior to going. I wanted to leave what I thought would have been half way through but was actually only 1/4 way through.

Pitt and Leo did a good job

Sorry fans - 2 out of 10 on this only reason it's not lower is the seats in the theatre reclined and the theatre didn't burn down

Read a story that QT said the main two roles were always going to Leo, Brad, or Tom Cruise because he knew all of them could do either one.

How we ended up there isn’t explained.

To each his own. This is his style.

I am a big fan of Tarantino, and the violence married to humor is absolutely brilliant and wonderful. But I have to ask - was it callous or disrespectful to Manson's victims?
No. It's a movie, not a documentary. Was Inglourious Basterds disrespectful to the German's? :)

I saw it this afternoon, and while it's not my favorite Tarantino movie, it's also better than some of his I've seen.

Both Pitt and Leo are fantastic. Hopefully they both get recognized for their work.
After seeing it today I don’t think any reasonable person would find it disrespectful.

Movie really takes you to 1969 with wardrobe, cars, advertising in background, etc. Thought some of the stronger scenes were when Leo and Pitt were not on camera together.

I agree with both of these. Not his best, but better than some of his others.

Definitely worth seeing if you are a Tarantino fan.
