I tried watching this. I missed it when it first came out, but they had a repeat of the first episode tonight. I thought it was a different premise, and I gave it 15 minutes, but I just couldn't get into it. For one thing, I'm not into TV shows that don't have some kind of resolution every episode, but just keep on leading you on, promising you a big reveal and never delivering.

Shows like Manifest and Black List come to mind in that category, both of which I started to watch and both of which I quit watching. Black List lasted a couple of seasons for me before the never ending story and James Spader's smarmy character eventually made me turn it off. Manifest, I made it through the first season, but didn't care to watch any more. Now, I didn't watch enough of Ordinary Joe to say for certain that it was going to be one of those shows, but it sure looked like it was leaning that way.

For another thing, they couldn't have picked a lead actor more ordinary than the one they picked. I mean, I get it, it's the show's premise. But this guy is supposed to hold our interest for an entire season? I just didn't see it. Didn't see the charisma or humor or charm or "it factor" or whatever that would hold anyone's interest. That will probably make somebody mad because he was in one of the most celebrated series around, Mad Men, but I never watched that, so I don't have the connection with him that some may have. This is actually the first time I've ever seen him.

Is anyone else watching it and coming to the same conclusions or am I way out in left field on this?
