GT struggled with Clemson twice this season, other than CJ Spiller, Clemson isn't very good. GT hasn't played a defense like Iowa's, I think you have a good shot if you can the offense to play well. You will need 24 to win IMO. Good Luck!
This is a great matchup for Iowa IMO. Teams like Florida, TCU, Boise St who can spread it out and both pass and run effectively are the ones that can run on Iowa. Teams like Ga Tech who basically run the ball 90% of the time allows Iowa to bring 8-9 people into the box (rather than the seven they normally play with).
I absolutely make them beat me throwing the football. As long as Iowa keeps a safety deep I don't think Ga Tech is capable of beating them with the passing game.
It all comes down to the Iowa offense in this one. Iowa's d is going to sell out against the run, but I don't think GA Tech is proficient enough of a passing team to take advantage of whatever Iowa will give them in the passing game. This was the best match up Iowa could have gotten in the BCS this year.
I think its a good matchup for Iowa. I'd rather see them play Boise State but GT is a much better fit for them.
Iowa's offense really needs to step up...they have been pretty bad the last few weeks of the season. If they do, I think they win. But it wouldn't surprise me if GT wins either.
Best case scenario for Iowa, the Orange bowl against Georgia Tech. They don't have to pee in anyone's Wheaties like TCU or Boise State, and they get their best chance at a BCS Bowl win with the remaining opponents.
Is Stanzi going to be back for this game? And if so is he practicing right now at full speed or is he still pretty fragile? Not that him at QB will make or break this game, but it could be negative if they try to throw him in before he is 100%. Either way I see Iowa finding a way to win.
The only way they lose is if Stanzi gift-wraps the game with mistakes. I think Iowa's run defense is a little suspect but with so much time to prepare I like their chances. Plus, GT has a horrendous defense.
