Only 600 show for a MLB game

I don't see how they can survive in Miami. They really need to be moved to a fan base that would appreciate them more.

Braves manager Bobby Cox extended his major league ejection record to 143, getting tossed in the fifth inning for arguing balls and strikes. It was the eighth time this season he was ejected.
Haha, even Bobby Cox didn't want to be there.

They can survive, in Miami, just not at Dolphins Stadium. The stadium is made for 8 football games a year, not 81 baseball games. I think I read somewhere that at least a third of their home games have had a rain delay. Not sure I would want to drive the hour from Miami to get there with those odds...

That brings up a question: where is there a fan base that would appreciate them. I don't pay much attention to baseball so I honestly don't know, but I'm curious. Is there a city somewhere that can really support an MLB team that doesn't already have one? Or maybe one of the cities that does already have one and could support another? If not Miami, where?

EDIT -- cybsball20 kind of answered my question in the above post, but what do other people think?

In 1969, Dad took my bro & I to a White Sox-Yankee game on the last day of the season.

The box score said 413 attendance.

Joe Pepitone was 1st base for the Yanks back then!

ironically the same guy that ruined the Montreal Expos currently owns the Marlins. They have won 2 World Series since becoming a team in 1993 but they've always had some interesting management. Build up a team to win it all then tear it apart and suck for awhile seems to be their strategy.

The thing is, they have been extremely productive when they 'tear apart' their teams. They are relentless with their minor league scouting and rarely make bad trades. Even this year they have one of the most fun teams to watch and arguably one of the best young starting pitchers in the game. If they could get a retractable roof stadium IN Miami or even Ft. Lauderdale they would draw 30k a game easy. They just need to get out of Mirimar.

Oh, and Omar Minaya destroyed the Expos/Nats. And he is trying hard to do the same in New York.

I would think somewhere in the Midwest would do well. There are a lot of baseball fans in Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, and more that don't have a baseball team. If not there, maybe Charlotte or Nashville.

The Des Moines Marlins has a good ring to it. Replace the race track at Prairie Meadows (which is a monumental fail) and build a new stadium.

How 'bout the Iowa Steaks? After all, Des Moines already has had the ethanol and pork industries sponsor teams in the Des Moines area. Why not get the livestock industry involved as well? Maybe they can negotiate with Blizzard and get one of these guys to be the mascot...

They can come to Omaha and play in the new stadium since the O Royals apparently dont want to. I don't think Omaha can really adequately support a major league team but we can probably outdraw where they are now!
