We don't really deserve to be ranked, to be honest. Not that concerned about rankings anyway. Obviously its nice exposure to have that little number by your name. But if we play our game the rest will fall into place.

Final regular season poll, it's possible, if ISU goes 4-0. 23-8/13-5/3rd place B12 with wins over KU, KSU (twice), @Missouri and Baylor. That's a Top 25 team.

That'd be cool after such a long absence from the rankings (about 6.75 seasons?).

But as you said, no big deal. Most of us at this juncture care far more about tournament hopes.

Losing at Okie State and Baylor has locked us out of the top 25 this year. If we were to beat both Mizzou AND Baylor, then MAYBE.

No big deal, just get to the tourney.

I fully expected to get fewer votes, actually, because the Baylor game was a necessity to climb up the ladder.

ISU has flirted w/ top 25 potential, but hasn't gotten enough momentum. The biggest back-to-back boost into ranking territory came after wins over KU & KSU. But those happened in separate weeks.

Week 1 began w/ a loss at Texas; Week 2 ended w/ a win over OU (which wouldn't increase status).

The following week included a loss @OSU and a non-factor win over A&M.

Rankings have a "snapshot" quality, where timing can matter a lot.

Yep, we'd definitely be Seth Davis' top 25. Don't know if we'd be in but we would be back to where we were about 2 weeks ago.
