On That Note - Goo Goo G'Joob

Now Chick-A-Boom is a kid's alphabet learning song but in 1971 when Daddy Dewdrop sang it, it was quite different:

and I have a feeling that when Tommy Roe put out Jam Up and Jelly Tight it wasn't about PBJ sammies:

and Little Willie by Sweet isn't one of the kids learning the alphabet:

Even thought the lyrics didn't make sense, the thought behind T. Rex's Get It On was clear:

I thought this song generated this week's theme but I didn't see the Rivington's Papa Oom Mow Mow posted so here it is:

Finally Sam the Sham explained the lyrics behind Wooly Bully so the nonsense made sense...at that time...to the 60's mind. Is it any wonder that so many nonsensical songs came from the 60's era?

Heard this one last night driving home...
Western Union
Dit, da dit, da dit
Dit, da dit, da dit
Dit, da dit, da dit
Dit, da dit, da dit
Dit, da dit, da dit
Dit, da dit, da dit
Dit, da dit, da dit
Dit, da dit, da dit

Fun fact - it's a live TV performance, and the lead singer muffs a line in the first verse. :D

Doesn't really seem to be the threads "nonsense meaningless syllables" since they are mimicking the sounds of a telegraph key operating. Or, at least trying to.

I am so old I saw my grandfather operate one at the railroad depot in Strawberry Point.

I was gonna say 'no' and go along with Boxster on this one. But I see my cohorts in crime have already voted 'aye.'

I'm wondering as creator of this particular thread whether I have veto power or must bow to the majority vote?

Don't want to get impeached for abuse of power...

Difficult times. Difficult times.

(Honestly, I don't care.)
