OLED TV worth it?

Alright, for those of you who have OLED TVs, are they worth it?

Thinking about replacing my 10-12 year old 65" HDTV. Just hate the thought of replacing it when it still works.

Yeah so much... Went shopping for TV's and my wife said she wanted the OLED because it looked so much better. I was like "if you say so dear." We ended up with an LG C1.

If you’re the type of person that holds onto a TV for 10 years, yes the cost of an OLED is worth it. I have a 2 year old 65” LG C9 and it’s picture is head and shoulders above anything else I’ve owned. I got really annoyed seeing so much bloom in dark scenes on my Samsung

I know what you mean about the bloom. I've also noticed that sports programming has improved so much that on fast moving close ups of plays in football games I get what I call a "picket fence effect" in the crowd in the background. Kind of annoying.

They’re pretty good. There some other options, like QLED, that aren’t quite as good, but are still pretty nice.

The price differential is close enough now it seems like a no brainer. Back when they cost 10 K for a TV no way, but that has changed.

Guessing that whenever my old Panasonic 60" plasma needs replacing it will be an OLED. Have gotten used to the contrast and deep blacks of the plasma and OLED gives that.

Count me in with the "totally worth it" crowd for OLED. I got a 65" LG OLED about a couple months ago and it blows everything else I've had out of the water.

Man, I really want to upgrade to one of these, but really don't have a good reason to replace a perfectly serviceable TV I have now. You guys are killing me with this thread.

Same here as others. Had a 60ish inch Samsung plasma that I loved, but had some issues (if we turned it off, we either had to turn it back on immediately or wait 30 minutes - it wouldn't turn back on during that window...?). Got a 65" LG C1. It's amazing. Streaming in 4k is my absolute favorite thing. We haven't upgraded our cable box to a 4k box yet, but from what I gather there isn't much broadcast is 4k yet. Some select live sports, but most is still 720/1080 HD. We're not avid gamers and only have a regular PS4 (not 4k), but even just being able to utilize the HDR has made the games look better.

I ended up opting to go with an 85" screen instead of upgrading my 65" LED to a 65" OLED.

We purchase a 65-inch LG C1 from Costco before Thanksgiving; it replaced our older 65-inch Samsung.
The colors and motion without blur are greatly improved over the LCD Samsung.

Costco gives you an extra 3 year warranty, we purchased online and they delivered it right to the door at no charge.
I looked the other day, the price for our TV was currently $1799.
Great TV.

Exactly why I went with a screen on my new setup a few years back.

My next purchase will be a laser projector. Although, the price point does still have to drop for me.

We just got 2 samsung QLED and have been happy. Our LG has been fine but better hope you don't have warranty issue at all with it as they are horrible in that situation, ours needed a board replaced within 6 months and took over a month to find someone to work on it and we ended up being his last LG customer even because he was sick and tired of dealing with LG.

Have a 77" LG G1 OLED and I've never seen a better picture. Including the 90" screen and 4k projector in our dedicated movie room setup, the OLED blows it out of the water.
