Raining like a cow p###ing on a flat rock here. What other pithy adages do you rarely hear anymore. No racist, sexist, gender jokes, please.

My mom had very colorful speech. Such as:

- higher than a cat's back = expensive

- the fur will fly = there's going to be a fight (disagreement)

- everybody and his dog = a lot of people

- He has more guts than a Christmas goose. = He is very presumptuous.

- You and I are going to have words. = If you do that, you are going to be in trouble.
 
Hotter than a tin roof.

Raining cats and dogs.

Madder than a hornet.

Madder than a wet hen.

Sh**'s goona fly.

Full of p*ss and vinegar

No farther than I could throw a mule
