Anyone else think these names are dumb?

ESPN - Barons, Thunder among 6 nicknames league seeks for OKC - NBA

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The NBA has filed for trademark rights to six nicknames for the league's new Oklahoma City franchise: Barons, Bison, Energy, Marshalls, Thunder and Wind.
An attorney for the league made the filing Monday with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Marshal is usually spelled with one l. It's not clear why the league used a variant spelling.
The filing is listed on the patent office's Web site.
The NBA and the team have refused to discuss possible new names for the team formerly known as the Seattle SuperSonics ahead of an official announcement, which has not yet been scheduled.

They were talking about this on ESPN Radio...couple of interesting suggestions:

Oklahoma City 89ers (land rush of 1889)
Oklahoma City Tornados

and a couple of not-so-serious ones...

Oklahoma City Texas Wannabes
Oklahoma City Bombers (that one's in bad taste)

I still think the Oklahoma City Slickers would be great. Get Billy Crystal courtside seats for every game.

Why can't a team not have a name? Why couldn't they just be the OKC?

Who do the Pacers play tonight? The OKC.

Who does Joe Six-pack play for now? The OKC.

It would certainly be unique.

I still refuse to acknowledge the abortion of justice that let Punkarse Bennett hijack the Sonics from the underrated fans of Seattle.

I will cheer with every fiber of my soul against that arrogant man. Somehow, he must have either attended school or is a fan of the Hogeyes.

Bennett has been portrayed poorly by the media in Seattle, but I don't think he's that bad.

I'm not a fan of any of the names, but then again, I can't stand professional sports other than golf, so I am not likely to attend any of the games. Therefore, I willingly recognize that my vote counts for nothing.

I just thought I would stick up for Clay.
