Ok Cutler fans...Maybe Denver knew something

Good for Martha Tirrel to find another job so quickly, and I see his dentist is in the loop there too. Seriously, a blog on a local affiliate. Concrete evidence to me!:jimlad:

A good friend of mine works in sports media (anchor and reporter, recently left Denver) and he told me that when he thinks of Cutler...it makes him wish he was working with NBA players! Said Cutler is the biggest d-bag he has worked with or around. He did say of course that this has nothing to do with his abilities and talents on the field...just absolutely can not stand him!

Also...I think the Bears HAD to make this trade! Now they need to find some WRs!

This is a dumb report... I'm going to go out on a limb and say it is COMPLETELY made up and bad reporting... That being said, the guy might be a d-bag... just not a major boozer who doesn't have football intelligence...

I have heard it from a lot of places so i think it does have some legs to it. How much is the question.

They need a better defense before better WR's, IMO.

I'm not journalist, but I live in Denver and have heard more than my share of Cutler being out with the boys on the town. It should be noted that Jay had two homes in Denver. One near the Broncos facility and one in downtown Denver so he could hang with his buddies and hit the bars. Give him credit, he didn't want to be driving impaired.

I would think a cab is a little cheaper than a second mortgage. Anyway, health wise should he be doing all this partying with diabetes? Can't that kinda give you some bad side effects?
It's been discussed in one of the other threads. Assuming you know how to monitor your insulin levels you can basically do whatever a normal healthy person can do.

This is overly simplistic and while I'm not an endocrinologist, I have lived with the disease for 25 years. My wife is a research assistant in pediatric endocrinology, running test studies for ADA, JDRF, etc. In short, I know what I'm talking about.

It is not OK for a type 1 diabetic (insulin dependent) to be boozing it up, regardless of his supervision and control. I won't go into the boring details; suffice it to say there's much that medical science still doesn't understand. For instance, exercise would be expected to lower blood sugar, yet adrenaline raises blood sugar. My 14 year-old HS freshman takes a small insulin injection BEFORE he goes on a long run, which is counter-intuitive.

In closing, a type 1 diabetic walks a fine balancing line at all times, and any variable(s) thrown in can have grave consequences. My wife is still grieving over one of her test subjects, a male college student who just happened to be the son of a UI MD. The kid was an athlete, a brilliant student and had the best medical care available in the state. He went drinking one night, suffered a low blood sugar in his sleep and died. They know that alcohol increases the absorption rate of insulin but they don't know why or by how much - a drinking diabetic is essentially playing Russian Roulette...

Lastly, the guy who made the statement you're citing was a Type II diabetic, which is an entirely separate beast. As diseases go, they're not even treated in the same clinic at UI as they're only peripherally related (same outcome but different causal factors).

I want Jay Cutler to do well so as to set an example for my two Type 1 Diabetic children, who are both fine athletes and shouldn't be limited by their disease. Unfortunately, this is not setting a good example....

I'm sure he's real worried that a Packers fan is upset that according to some internet rumors he's not setting a good example for diabetics everywhere. I'm sure kids everywhere are going to think it's fine to drink with diabetes just because Cutler apparently does.

This wasn't the crux of my argument, rather a closing note to show that I'm not anti-Cutler when it comes to my thoughts on this trade. Ron Santo isn't a good example for Type 1 Diabetics and I LOVE Ronnie....

Well if they thought Jay liked to party and that scared them off....why would they trade for Captain Neckbeard? Hims likes his booze too.

My whole thought to this is, if he was a big partier, where are all of the pics to prove their point now ala Orton and his buddy JD hanging with tha ladies. Nobody in Denver has cell phone cameras?
