Official Monday blizzard thread

I heard a lot of people say last winter that bad winters come in threes, and thus since last winter was the second strong winter in a row, that this winter would be bad as well. Obviously it's purely anectdotal, but it seems to be holding true. Hopefully next winter is a relief.

That sounds like the "bad things always happen in sets of 3" saying. I read somewhere that there's really not a lot of truth to that. It's just that by the 3rd time of whatever, people start paying attention, and it doesn't really matter what the timeframe has been for the occurence of those three things.

I'm hoping that NWS is right, and I get a small window between snow slowing down and winds picking up to clean driveway.

I live and teach in Wyoming. We got probably 5 inches just between 11:00 PM last night and 6:30 AM this morning. We rarely ever have a now day. I think we have had 1 maybe 2 in the 4 years I have been here, and that was when it snowed almost a foot over night.

Where do you live in Wyoming, near Gillette by chance? I heard 50+ mph winds out that way.

Don't worry, soon BHO (that's Barack Hussein Obama, seems suspiciously similar to your screen name) will either nationalize the towing companies so that someone will come take care of you on such mornings, or tax the operation of your vehicle so much you'll have to walk to work anyway. Then you won't have to worry about such things.

You don't visit the political forum much, do you?

Any chance on Iowa State canceling this afternoon? Please real responses and no "Iowa State never cancels" Because the did last year on a rainy day that never turned icy.
