Re: So wait...

Alright, this has NOTHING to do with what NBA reports or mock drafts are saying because I don't look at them... I just need something explained to me:

SUPPOSEDLY Craig Brackins and Marquis Gilstrap are NBA caliber players and both should/could be drafted this year. How many NCAA teams have two supposed NBA caliber players and can't put together a nice NIT or NCAA run?

One (it's us)

dude seriously bellzisu, who gives a **** about how iowa is doing, last time i checked they are awful in the big ten, we have other problems besides caring about what iowa is doing so who gives a ****

Seriously dude... (who says that anyway these days??) Who ****** in your cheerios??

Someone explain to me why our two supposed "NBA talent" guys didn't have the damn ball when it mattered? They're not that talented if they don't DEMAND the ball at that point and the rest of the team knows who should have the ball.

Also, why is it ok for Craig to just keep chucking shots? Poor coaching... He's good, but not good enough to just shoot with two guys on him all the time without getting a pass. Beat the double team, don't just shoot the damn ball wildly.

Coaching is horrendous. Who should have the ball in critical moments? What plays do we run? Do we need a 3 or 2? All things a coach should be relaying... but doesn't

Lastly, everytime we got within one or two points... we just got scared... we're scared... we expect to lose on the road and at home. Colvin is the only player without this mentality.

Honest Question: Can someone tell me why a mono-riddled Christopherson who continually misses wide open shots and fails to box out plays more minutes than Buckley??

Especially when the Buck, CC, and DG lineup was going well...

oh... and mizzou played awful... not many times in the Big 12 do you get a home team handing you a road victory on a platter... we were too scared to take it...

If Iowa hangs on, they will have more wins in conference than ISU. They are not a good team yet, but I do think they have improved a lot since the start of the season.

Who the **** cares about Iowa.

What in the hell is wrong with you people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought we would catch a team or two not bringing their A game and sneak out maybe 6 Big 12 wins this year.

Do I feel stupid now or what?

Teams are showing up half assed against us and still are winning.

Lets think of the positives:
The game was a lot closer than I thought it would be.
The players are still trying hard. A lot of people would have packed up the tent by now.
Ham just keeps getting better.

Lets also think of these positives

One-we gave it our best
Two-ISU fans are still dear friends
Three-We should be practicing with the ISU women

Remeber the quote on the Replacements- "Winners always want the ball, when the game is on the line"

I'm not seeing them going after the ball, or getting into position to score and calling for the ball. Getting a pass 30 ft from the basket if you Brackins or Ques doesn't help the offense out one bit.

Who is the most clutch player on our team? whoever it is, theyre not clutch. theyre just more so than anyone else.

THe key is we have had a chance in the last two games and have shot the ball very poorly. Those who continually fault Mac for not having a gameplan or poor coaching are in serious tunnel vision mode. If we shoot the ball better from the past two games we win both. Are losses fun, no, however the team is being put into position tomake plays and at this time are not.

EXACTLY what I'm saying... they don't demand the ball. I know that Sherron Collins or Cole Aldrich get in that situation, grab their teammates and say, "give me the god damn ball, I'm going to score" Gilstrap and Brackins set a screen and stand on the 3 point line waiting for something good to happen.

Which is it? CB tries to carry the team because he IS a talent or he shouldn't because he wasn't making his shots?

Agree - Buckley should get more time than Christopherson. If Christopherson can't hit a shot he is a liability on the court - he can't guard and can't rebound.

Also, why did GMac not call a TO when we are down by 6 with 1:35 to play? We wasted 35 seconds and got no offensive set and launched a bad 3 point shot at the end. I have alwasys supported GMac but it keeps getting harder and he is not helping me.

It sounded like they played really, really hard. I hope they get rewarded soon. I just feel bad for those players and the staff.

Who the **** cares about Iowa.

What in the hell is wrong with you people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I brought it up to remind all of the stupid people on this board joking about how good we were compared to them, and how we are heading in the right direction compared to them...

Just wanna know where those people are???

What the hell is wrong??? Well.... we suck. We ***** about it all the time. Just bringing something different to the table.... Instead of..

1. McD should be fired
2. We can't rebound
3. McD can't coach.
4. We suck.
5. McD should be fired

I get the gist of what I will read tonight (ie Mac sucks, he has to go, no effort etc), but at some point don't guys NEED to make layups/dunks on their own - or is that Mac's fault as well.

I know this season is in the crapper, but we played tonight with 7 players, 2 of which are post players, a guy with mono and a guy who wasn't even in our top 11 to start the year and almost won at Mizzou (how many home games have they lost in 3 years?).

I know MU played like crap, but no reason that couldn't have been a little bit about us?? As I have already read - well ya, but Baylor plays with 7 and so and so plays with 8. BUT THEY HAVE MORE OPTIONS. We have NO other scholarship players. We played tonight without 4 of our top 10 players when the season started (and 3 of the top 7). Baylor is playing with all 7 of their top players - big difference.

The other thing I keep reading is who else would do this with two NBA guys. We have a 20-30 first rounder in CB and a possible 2nd rounder in MG. Not like we have 2 lottery picks. I'm sure Carolina has 8 potential NBA players but they are struggling as well.

I know it is easy to throw Mac under the bus, but save a game or two this team keeps playing and keeps games close, they just can't get over the hump which is frustrating to all of us. I just wish people would at least think a little before all blame for everything goes on Mac's head.

Christopherson has been playing about as poorly as any ISU player in the last 30 years. I'm not exagerating either. I know he is sick but I used to play with mono so I know it can be done. He must be shooting around 5% from the floor in his last 7 games. Many many turnovers too.

Other than Brackins' dunk, the Mizzou announcers were not impressed with Brackins at all. Toward the end of the game they even said it is time for Brackins to show us he's an NBA player. He then proceeded to force up one of his many ugly ugly shots in the lane. I'd rather see him move on, but I'm afraid Craig is going to have to come back next year. He absolutely needs to get bigger and stronger so that he can create space for himself when he's got the ball down low. His shooting percentage on shots from inside 10 feet is horrible. I've said this before, but Craig could learn a lot from watching Hamilton's footwork.

I'm sure some parent will buy them treats after the next home game. Just hope the Big 12 still hands out ribbons to everyone that participates this season. YOu know it breaks the kids hearts when they don't get that stuff.

The team is getting rewarded for how they play, and how they are coached. I don't feel bad for the staff for 1 minute. They seem just as lost as the players.

I can't stand the.... We played hard and that's all that matters. Save it for your 5th grader and his team.
