***Official: ISU @ EIU game(day) thread***

I'm really p!ssed at Hamilton for being such a weenie and leaving. We could really use him as a post presence right now.

That being written, the game's only at halftime here fellas. Still twenty minutes to go. We need to rediscover our shooting touch and battle them to at least a draw on rebounding and we're back in this.
 
Still don't think this is over. We had some really bad stretches in the first half and still hung in there. Then you had Gatens going Reggie Miller the first 2 minutes he was on the floor. DG will play better and knock down a few shots this half. I didn't agree with sitting JVB the entire rest of the half but up until the last 90 seconds we were getting away with it.

Not giving up on this game yet. Although I still don't believe this team will win on the road all year. I said that a couple weeks ago and still believe it to be true. They just don't have the confidence away from home. DG is a complete different player in Hilton.
 
The problem is not really the team - it's the fans. Everyone said prior to the season expectations were low with a new HC and weaknesses on the team.

After feasting on some poor teams, expectations were erroneously inflated.

And now I read people ripping on our player and coaches at will - happily doing so it seams. One minute guys like DG and Jake Anderson are loved. People wonder what they are doing on the floor.

Not like this is anything new here, just pointing out a fact.

It would be real swell if people remembered the circumstances the team is in - and that this rebuilding is going to take time. My only frustration is Iowa shouldn't be very good either - but it does look like they found a few more diamonds in the rough than we have thus far.

Keep in mind though - when rebuilding a team, winning on the road is quite tough.

Wait - why would I bother mentioning that - no one is going to keep this thing in perspective anyway...

Most of you guys would just warm up the bus and forfiet the 2nd have, were not playing play-station guys, this is a actual Athletic contest.....You have to play thru adversity, not just hit the reset button....WOW

Even for those of you who think Diante is awful, he's certainly not 1-14 bad. Even if he goes 6-14 we're tied. He will be fine.

If you want to go jump off the bandwagon because these games aren't quite as easy as blowing out Montana State or Alabama State, go right ahead.
 
DG sucks. If we can't get better players then him, we're screwed. Against any team with even remotely athletic guards, he gets worked.

JVB is an embarrassment to basketball. Unless he's left wide open beyond the arc, he's useless to have in the game.

You could not be more wrong. With JA going at PG we were even worse. DG IS our best player, but he's been missing shots he usually makes. How can you say he's a SG. He's the best ball handler in the state.
 
The worst thing I see is missing the front end of a two shot foul; clanks short. Fred needs a major overhaul on free throw shooting.

2nd half will likely be more of the same.

About what I expected. Not sweating it if we lose. Only place to go is up.

Also, DG is a great Cyclone!

You said... that we will see what kind of coach he is after seeing how we play in the second half.

Like I said.. First year coach. Doesn't have the players. 3 players in foul trouble. And our pg can't buy a bucket.

This game isn't going to say anything about what type of coach Fred is.
