Not really, I heard over Christmas break he was unhappy and stated he was basically out after the season.
Then why is he still playing?

First sign of the wheels falling off the bus...

Why isn't Buckley getting more time then? If GMac wasn't happy with Colvin, then put Buckley in for him and sit him down. That will send a message loud and clear. But don't call him out in front of the media. That is not a good thing to do at all IMO. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Colvin left. That is not cool at all. If GMac has a problem with Colvin, then take game time away from him and talk privately with him about it.
McD is still going to play the best player. Colvin is still going to play hard even if he is out next year. If he goes out and doesnt try, then buckley would be right inWhy isn't Buckley getting more time then? If GMac wasn't happy with Colvin, then put Buckley in for him and sit him down. No way. We would have beat UNI with the way we attacked on offense and went after shooters in the first half.
I refuse to believe we'll play worse than the UNI game until we go to Boulder
I'm just not ready to give up on this team until the final bell sounds on the final game. It's obvious that they need to improve. But I see this as the first really complete team (meaning experienced and talented) that McDermott has had at ISU, and still, they have some things to learn. I fully believe that they will pull things together as they go through the Big 12, and that they'll be at least a bubble team.
Rebounding continues to be an issue but the guys played with some serious fire for the first time after the first timeout in the first half.
Second, I think getting embarrassed on the boards will force Greg to try new things in practice... maybe radical things. That too was needed for this team to improve.
What possible reason is there to "go public" with a problem with a player other than a self-serving one?
Why can't he get them to play and rebound like he did as a player? I've seen tapes - Gmac was rough, he was aggressive, he threw his weight around. I don't get it.
If it doesn't, Greg could be in severe trouble if his young talent leaves and future recruits don't like seeing more instability.

Many reasons. Motivation for one. Let's suppose Mr. Colvin has pro basketball aspirations. Scouts know that coaches generally don't bring this stuff out in public, so that if these attitude or work ethic type things do come out, it is probably a serious matter. The perception of a bad attitude could be the difference between Colvin getting drafted higher or lower, or getting drafted at all. Draft position = $$$. $$$ is often a pretty good motivator. If you read scouting reports, attitude and work ethic are frequently mentioned.
