The day is here! The young bats of Chicago Cubs are in the NLCS against the young arms of the Mets. Who will prevail?

1st game at 7:07 PM on TBS

What are people thoughts on this series? Cubs have the season series 7-0 only allowing 11 runs in those 7 games. Last time they played was towards the end of July.

I don't know if the Mets have the bats to beat the Cubs. Will the young staff of the Mets be able to throw it past the young rookies?!

I'm excited. For some reason I chose Cyclone football over this. Oh well, maybe they'll show the game on the video board :jimlad:

Getting ready to head into work and I'm not thrilled. I'll be home in plenty of time to watch the game but I should be able to sit around all day drinking and watching hype up videos. Life is so unfair.

Mets didn't have Cespedes in any of the 7 games played between the two teams. Their offense has improved quite a bit since then. Should be a real good series.

Teams played in May and late June I believe. Much different teams now vs then. Season series doesn't mean anything in the playoffs, ask the '88 Mets. They dominated LA, but lost in the playoffs to them. Looking forward to a fun series. Wouldn't be surprised if it went the distance.

CUBS WOOOOOOO!

Today is best friend's birthday and he's a Mets fan. On FB I wrote Happy Birthday, Mets Suck Go Cubs!

I'm really torn tonight.

A bunch of college buddies are going to be at the TCU game. I'm at a kids basketball tournament and probably couldn't get to Ames until 4 at best.

I had a crazy fall moving the family and haven't been to a game this year. This is probably my best shot at going to one.

If I go and they get killed and I miss the cubs game I'm going to be ******.

If I don't go I'm going to be ****** I don't make a game this year. If by a miracle they don't get killed I'll really be ******. I'll also miss out seeing old friends.

I'm leaning toward going and leaving for a bar if it gets ugly to watch the cubs. I've got a two hour drive from Ames though so not really excited about that after the game.

What do I do fanatics?

It's game 1 of the NLCS. Go to the football game. You'll regret it if it's a good game. Cubs play tomorrow, Tues, Wed for sure.

The ISU game starts at 6 PM and the Cubs start at 7 PM. Go to the ISU game and hang with your friends, especially if you won't have another chance this year. Plus you already paid for a ticket. You can follow the Cubs game via a smart phone and there will be more games in the series to watch.

If you're really torn about the Cubs, if (when) the ISU game is a blowout in the second half, then perhaps convince your friends to head to a bar to watch both.

I thought he died. I saw him at the game I was at in August though.

Heather Burnside said she took a picture with him at Monday's game, so it sounds like is still alive and kicking.

As for Laminak's question, is that something you can really "retire" from?
