CR roads mostly fine, same with Marion. County is trash (or at least Blairsferry out to Palo is) hard packed snow. 380 and 100 were just wet

Heard it was a record?
Yeah, but just for this particular calendar date.

Specific date precip records are kinda sketch, since it obviously doesn't snow every single Feb 16, or Jan 2 or whatever.

Snow record could be 14" one day in January, and 0.7" the next, theoretically.

Ames takes forever on side streets. Slower than any city I’ve lived in.
Yea, seems they hit the main roads/snow routes hard and leave the side streets. It’s maybe a bit extreme compared to other places. I live on a snow route in Ames and the plows are constant, it was down to wet pavement almost immediately after the snow stopped.

The cul-de-sac that I live on in Johnston was fully plowed by 3:00 PM on Thursday, almost dry by evening!

Blacktop were ok in the Linn Co area but sideroads weren't to shiny. Worst part was the flat light made it hard as hell to see. I think orange lens ski goggles would have been about right. It was b*tch to find driveway.
