With NC St firing Gottfried, I'm wondering if Terry Henderson will become available. He played two years at WVU, including 16 points on 4 threes against Kane and Co. A 6'5" shooting guard, he is averaging 14 points while shooting 39% on 3Ps.

He's a senior but he tore a ligament in his ankle seven minutes into last season, possible medical redshirt. Maybe Lutz can put in a good word. I like Babb and Lewis, but a proven 6'5" shooter and scorer would be nice in replacing our Naz and Thomas.

Lutz isn't at NC State anymore nor would he have any ties to any coaches on this staff

He coached Henderson and knows the NC basketball scene very well. He's got a good relationship with Fred (and works for the Windy City Bulls) and coached/knows ISU. You think we had more direct connections to all of our previous transfers?

You're right that ISU did not have direct connections to all previous transfers but if Henderson is even granted an extra year by the NCAA I doubt Bobby Lutz will have anything to do with it. I'd happily eat crow if he does and Henderson ends up at ISU because he's putting up solid numbers this year and would he a welcome addition to next years team.

Yes, Bobby won't have much to do with Henderson getting an extra year. It's always a long shot for any sought after transfer, but Lutz is as good of connection as most "ins" in transfer recruiting.

Better yet, lets hire whoever their best Assistant coach recruiter is. They always get great talent. Or maybe that was Gotfried, I don't know.

Pure speculation at this point, but I was thinking the other day that if Nebraska does indeed fire Tim Miles and Michael Jacobson decides to transfer, I think we would be the perfect landing spot for the 6'10" big man. He's from Waukee and he is a good looking player that would fit exactly what we are looking for. He can run the floor and has a nice looking shot for a big man

Doubtful he transfers on his own decision. He was pretty lucky he got a D1 scholarship, and if he decides to transfer, he may find out there aren't options better than Nebraska.

It's rare to have big roster turnovers when there's a coaching change, and even more rare that average role players decide to leave. If anything, it's usually players being asked to transfer out, so they can use their scholarship elsewhere.

He's averaging 6.3 ppg and 6.7 rpg for a Big Ten team, I bet better teams would be interested in him (e.g. Merrill Holden)

I didn't even know Miles was on the hot seat and agree with your second paragraph though. It's rare to see a role player transfer when there's a coaching change.

I don't know if I should be saying this or not, but I am pretty good friends with his family and there is a strong possibility that he considers transferring if there is indeed a coaching change at Nebraska (which there will be). Don't be surprised if he is on our practice squad this next basketball season.

Appreciate the information, very interesting.
I'm definitely not good enough to evaluate talent, so I'll leave it to the staff to decide if he's a better option than some of the Jucos were going after, or any other transfers this spring. Otherwise I'd be happy if he's fall back, or walk on player for Iowa St next season.

Did you see Kasongo's numbers? If he waits until late spring/summer he'll easily have find at least one other high major offer. If he were a grad transfer he'd have a half dozen.

It's already been mentioned but I'd be thrilled if we could get even a guy like Donnal. Team him with one of the athletic point-forward jucos and a Henderson and we'll be able to continue the streak

I'd give him a scholarship just so he doesn't go to UNI and beat us. But seriously, I would offer him a scholarship without thinking twice if he decided to transfer. We get 13 scholarships, but they don't need 13 star players. A 6'9" guy that you know can play at a weak high-major level like the B10 is pretty valuable. We know he's been well-coached cause Miles is a good coach. And he'd probably love it to be @ISU which is always a good thing.

Plus, ISU has the scholarships (and an excuse of a rebuilding year) to afford to take 1-2 situout guys this year if Prohm wants to.

I'm not seeing any alt-landing spot for Dante Williams of Kansas State yet; probably will need to sit out next year, though, unless Brucey gets fired...

SEVEN FOOTER, by the way!

What am I missing here? Guess I thought NU has overachieved this year, although they've slipped back a little lately. Think Miles is a good coach for Nebraska. He lost White to transfer and has had post injuries. Haven't heard or read anything that his job is in jeopardy, but maybe others have.
