Yeah, he chose Cinci out of HS then transferred to Manhattan to be closer to NYC. Has had issues since going home. Curious if Matt A may try to get him to St John's? Probably more likely than Prohm pursuing IMO.

No thanks. Cullen is a d-bag! Not to mention, a ball hog and not a very good shooter. I have seen him make some boneheaded decisions in games many many (RIP George Gaynes) times. He would be a good addition to a mid-major like UNI, but I can't see him being successful in a P5 program.

Neal's play is so sloppy at times that he has received death threats from crazy fans. He had about 20 more turnovers than Niang this year just to give you an idea...

Have to think Monte comes back with this injury limiting his exposure and making his future health questionable, but even if he leaves we don't need more guards. Donovan, Hallice and Naz would be serviceable enough with our worries in the frontcourt.

That's what I've been think these last few days. I always feel when players go into the draft off an injury even if it's a small one like monte it really hurts their stock. Plus he has been down lately and not playing as well as normal. I would love for him to come back because I think he needs more size and better 3pt shooting. I won't fault him if he leaves though.

i think for him to leave he needs to have some big games and go to the sweet sixteen. I hope his shoulder gets closer to 100% on Thursday.

Don't want Neal but if Monte doesn't come back we still are thin at pg. Halice and Naz need to stay at SG, imo. A true pg they are not. Hope Donovan fits the bill there.

Hoping Donovan can run it but we have MT at SG too, easily could have two of those 3 on the court at the same time. Burton and Babb can fill the 3 and it sounds like Bowie could play there as well if we're going with a bigger lineup. Worried about putting so much on Ernst, Carter, Young and Malou. If Malou doesn't turn out to be near as good as we all think he will be we're in big trouble, a lot more trouble than having Hallice or Naz run the point for less than 10 mpg.

I don't disagree and doubt the staff is looking at a post grad guard transfer or focused on backcourt targets at this point. However, talent is always welcome on the roster and if there is a high level non-post transfer the staff will contribute they have a right to pursue it. The staff has offered a bunch of 2017-2018 guards so a traditional PG/SG transfer with multiple years left wouldn't be a bad target (assuming schollys work out).

That would be fine but I'd prefer one with multiple years that has to sit out, feel pretty confident Monte will be back at this point. No inside knowledge of course, just looking at how the season turned out and shoulder injury. If he is back, I'm not sure even the #1 available grad transfer PG or SG is good enough to be worth risking frontcourt depth for next season, or a sit out for future seasons.

You say that like being sloppy with the ball warrants death threats.

You are correct, you can't teach height, but I'd much rather have a smaller guy, that has proven he can rebound and play defense. This guy got <6 minutes at Wake Forest. He'll be transferring down a couple levels.
 
For as few points and minutes he has accumulated I believe he led his team in blocked shots his sophomore year with minimal playing time.

I do agree a smaller more productive big would be more ideal but I wouldn't lose track of this guy.

I'd guess he'll go mid major, weird that a big guy wouldn't want to stick it out for a coach who is known for his development of bigs. If we didn't already have Bowie, I'd be really interested but right now, this kid doesn't look like much of an upgrade. Unless the coaching staff sees something they like, I'd rather take my chances on the law office of Carter, Ernst and Young.
