***Offical NBA Regular Season Thread***

any of them. 60 minutes for a player is a fireable offense.

Sometimes you have to live with a less talented player on the floor for five minutes a half. The funny thing is he's a good enough coach to scheme around it but he just refuses to do it. It will cost him at least this job and if he doesn't learn any job he takes in the future as well.

Carmelo, LeBron, Harden, Parsons, Klay Thompson, Curry, DeRozan, Durant, Afflalo, Aldridge, Wall, and Ellis all play more minutes per game than Deng this season.

The next highest in minutes per game for the Bulls is Butler at 35 minutes per game. Which actually seems low for a starting SG his age.

Thibs doesn't take games off. And plays his players hard in every game. But Rose's main injuries have not been from being overworked. Noah's injuries you could argue, but he has been better since switching shoe companies.

Again, 60 minutes. Never acceptable in the regular season and barely acceptable in the playoffs.

You can make excuses if you want but it's not like I'm the only person to think this. In fact, if the rumors of a divide between Thibs and the Chicago front office are true, his own front office might agree with me.

I never said Rose's injuries were Thibs fault, but I do believe Thibs' coaching philosophy is the reason he was so hesitant to come back.

It's worth noting that his sixty minute game came in a triple OT game. No other Bulls starter logged over 50.

Wow Durant has been going off, 10 games in a row over 30 points and now an extremely efficient high triple double.

I had been in the Indiana/Heat winner taking it all camp, but now I'm thinking whoever survives that war could get beat by OKC, especially if OKC has home court. Shaping up like Miami might not have home court adv in two tough series in a row.

The announce team from Toronto said all that was missing in the Clippers-Raptors game was a red, white and blue ball.

After years the NBA has finally conceded that the ABA was a more fun to watch league.

Carmelo is leaning towards the Bulls in free agency.

"Only now, the gloom of the Knicks' season – the uncertainty of the franchise's future – left that man to believe it's possible Anthony could leave New York in free agency."Chicago is much more in play for him than L.A.," the source said.

Gotta love that "article" claiming that the Bulls are a riskier franchise than the Knicks. The Knicks have been maybe the worst managed franchise in sports for almost 20 years now. They lose even when they sign every player they want, on the other hand the Bulls are in 5th place in the East without their best two players from the start of the season and without practically ever signing one of their top free agent choices.

The city of New York might be good for marketing, but nothing about it magically makes horribly run franchises like the Knicks and Nets into good teams.

Exactly. I think Melo will look at this free agency as his legacy status. He has the money, but I think he wants to compete for a championship. His 2003 counterparts James, Bosh and Wade all have championships.

Hell even other 2003 draftees David West, Nick Collison, Boris Diaw, Kendrick Perkins, and Matt Bonner are on teams that have great chances to win a championship.

The Knicks need a new owner. Dolan is turrible.

I'm not saying Chicago is some championship lock, but they've been a top five contender until last year with basically one all star and a top 3 defense in the league. Even with no star players they're somehow near the top of the East and better than the Knicks. As long as Thibs is coach if Melo wants to win Chicago is an easy pick over the Knicks.

If the Bulls can hold together their defensive core of Noah-Gibson-Butler but add Melo, along with having a contingency plan for Rose at point, I can really get behind that strategy. It's definitely the playoff shot maker they've lacked in their recent years of great regular seasons.

If Thibs is still coach I think Melo could have his best years in Chicago.

Healthy Rose, Butler, Melo, Gibson, Noah.
Mitoric, Snell, Dunleavy, 2014 draft pick (post or PG), cheap FA (guy like Devin Harris from or resign Augustine).

Would be a great team!

Kevin Durant is currently unstoppable. 36.9 ppg in January. (As well as 6.1 apg and 6.2 rpg) He may not come in second this year.

Durant should easily win MVP this year. LeBron has been on cruise control this season and no one else is even close to those guys.

I don't know about easily, but I do think he'll probably win it - Lebron will still get plenty of votes and Paul George will be right there, too. But Durant has to be the favorite right now. What will make or break his case will be how he adjusts when Westbrook comes back, because that will mean shouldering less of the load offensively.
