Offensive lineman

He hasn't played this year (except for a few minutes in lopsided games possibly). I believe he got passed over partway through last year. I had high hopes for him when he came to ISU, but he hasn't progressed as much as he needed to. I have heard his technique is his downfall.

This is my only concern for the program moving forward, is continuing to build depth and talent on the offensive line. We lose a lot of experience after this year.

He was highly thought of as a recruit but has yet to crack the lineup. I heard Campbell praise a few that will be playing more next year but Sean wasn't one of them.

He has been a disappointment

Meeker (where Foster would most likely come in if there were an injury) has been playing great in Brocktober. So has Good-Jones on the other side.

Foster had a lot of question marks coming out of high school, on paper he was highly rated but it seemed like teams were skeptical. This shouldn't be a shock or a disappointment.

Yep, he's exactly what we thought he was. Tall and rangy but stiff and doesn't bend well at the hips. Pretty strong kid but slow footed and supposedly doesn't have great technique.

The technique can improve (a lot) but being stiff and slow footed is tough to change

Kids often tend to “put it all together” their senior year. He certainly has every opportunity to.

That said, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him grad transfer, should the above not occur. I hope everything works out for him either way.

At some point in time someone posted on here that he doesn't have the work ethics of some of the younger guys, but he still has a chance to contribute. Just something I read, I have no idea personally what is keeping off the field. ISU is definitely losing a lot of guys, but there are several younger guys that can play guard and center. As far as I know the only tackle that has played under fire, with the game on the line is the one that sub for Jones last week.

To be honest, you’re the first person I’ve seen on here say that he’s “stiff” and “slow footed”. Everyone else—and there have been many of them—has indicated that his issues have nothing to do with physical ability.

Ramos looked good the little he filled in for Jones.

You don't have to take my word for it. He's played. Go back and watch him on film and draw your own conclusions.

Thanks, couldn't remember who it was, but I do remember that he had a couple dominate blocks when in there.

I know he is one of the guys that CMC has mentioned as pressing for playing time.

Can someone that know post the younger guys that are most likely tackles?

Ramos and redshirting frost Grant Treiber are very likely. Jake Remsburg has a chance at RT, if he’s quick enough to stay outside. Then there are the current commits, Tyler Miller and Sam Rengert, who both seem to have a chance to be pretty good.

Then the staff seems to be recruiting a JC OT pretty hard. We’ll see how that works out.

Iowa passed on him because of his poor footwork. That was noticeable when he was starting early in his career. But he was young at the time and that was fixable. I'm not sure if that's still an issue or not, but if it is then he might not start next year as a 5th year senior.

Foster will get his chance to compete for playing time at tackle next year. Ramos seems like the favorite for LT. Who knows about RT. Hopefully Foster is working hard and improving. Hard to say where he is right now since we haven’t seen him much this year. The guy kind of got thrown to the wolves when he wasn’t really ready due to our lack of depth early on.

So I guess the thought is Hudson will go inside? That kid is an absolute monster physically.
